This FAQ guide is based on CNC machining questions we are often asked.
1. What materials can be machined on a CNC machine?
At RALLY, our CNC machines are capable of handling a diverse range of materials, ensuring we can meet the specific needs of various applications across industries. Here are some of the materials we can machine:
Metals: Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass, Copper, Titanium
Plastics: Acrylic, Nylon, ABS, Polycarbonate, PTFE (Teflon), POM, PEEK, PMMA
2. Do you have a minimum order quantity for ordering parts?
RALLY is committed to taking on projects of all sizes, so we don’t require minimum order quantities. Whether you need a single prototype or a high-volume part, we offer flexible and efficient CNC machining services tailored to your specific needs. In this way, we can support a wide range of customers, from startups needing initial prototypes to large corporations needing high-volume production.
3. What surface finishes are available?
At RALLY, we offer a wide range of surface finishes to enhance the appearance, durability, and performance of your CNC machined parts. Our available finishes include:
Anodizing: Provides a durable, corrosion-resistant finish, available in various colors.
Powder Coating: Offers a thick, protective layer that is more resistant to chipping, scratching, and other wear compared to other finishes.
Plating: Including options like nickel, chrome, and zinc for added corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal.
Polishing: Achieves a high gloss finish, enhancing the aesthetic quality of the parts.
Bead Blasting: Creates a uniform matte or satin surface finish by shooting small glass beads at a high pressure over the surface of the part.
These finishes can be applied to a variety of materials and are selected based on the intended use of the parts, their operating environment, and aesthetic requirements.
4. What is the production turnaround time?
Our production turnaround time is designed to meet your deadlines efficiently. Typically, we can produce and deliver samples within 3-5 days, depending on the complexity of the parts. For bulk quantities, the production timeline ranges from 10-20 days. However, we always work closely with our clients to accommodate specific scheduling needs and strive to optimize our processes to meet even the tightest deadlines.
5. How do you make sure the products meet our quality standards?
We strictly adhere to ISO 9001 quality management system standards. We conduct thorough quality inspections from raw material verification, in-process control, to final product inspections. We also provide First Article Inspection (FAI), dimensional reports, and full inspection reports to ensure each batch meets your quality requirements.
6. What will you do if products get damaged during shipping?
We ensure robust packaging before shipping to minimize any risk of damage. In the rare case that products are damaged during transportation, we will provide free replacements or compensation, depending on the situation, to ensure your interests are protected.
7. Can we get free samples?
Yes, at RALLY, we understand the importance of ensuring our parts meet your specific needs. That’s why we offer free samples before moving forward with mass production. This allows you to assess the quality and compatibility of the parts with your requirements, ensuring complete satisfaction before full-scale manufacturing begins.
8. Which countries do you export to?
We export to various countries and regions globally, including the USA, Canada, Germany, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil, among others.
9. How long does it take to get a quote?
We are committed to responding quickly to all inquiries. You can receive a detailed quote within 8 to 12 hours of submitting your design specifications and requirements.
10. What types of file formats does CNC machining support?
We support a variety of file formats to ensure seamless integration of your designs into our CNC machining processes. The most commonly supported file formats include:
STEP (.stp, .step): Ideal for 3D models and preferred for its compatibility across different software.
IGES (.igs, .iges): Another widely used format for 3D data that is universally accepted.
DXF (.dxf): Useful for 2D drawings, often used in conjunction with other 3D model files.
DWG (.dwg): Commonly used for 2D drawings and can also include 3D data, associated with AutoCAD.
These formats allow us to accurately translate your designs into precise CNC machined parts, ensuring that all specifications are met with high fidelity.
